Your team
The Business Development team builds collaborations with companies (small, medium & large) mainly active in the food sector. You will join a fun & ambitious team of 3 business developers, each working on specific commodities and partners. You will report to Cécile Henrard, Head of Business Development.
Your Mission
Your responsibilities can be split up in 3 main focus areas:
Foodservice / OOH approach
- You analyse the market and develop a clear strategy
- You determine clear priorities in order to develop this strategy
- You proactively reach out to prospects and are able to tell the Fairtrade story in a passionate & convincing way
- You increase the share of Fairtrade products in these channels
- You support current and new partners to communicate their Fairtrade
- engagement, together with our communication team
Coffee Strategy
- You become an expert in the coffee world
- You work out a clear growth strategy and are proactive towards partners, prospects & colleagues
- You work closely with other business development managers, as well as with your colleagues in the communication team. Together, you develop tailor-made solutions to support your commercial partners and help them achieve outstanding results
- You are in close contact with your international colleagues to build up knowledge and share/get best practices
Management of Key Accounts
- You are responsible for some of our cross-category key accounts like Oxfam
- You detect opportunities & develop an action plan to grow with these partners

Your Profile
Education & Experience
- You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree.
- You have 2 to 10 years' experience in a sales and/or category management role
- Having experience in OOH / Foodservice / Retail is a plus
- Having experience in the Coffee sector is a plus
Relevant Skills
- You are curious and perseverant and willing to build long term relationships with our partners
- You are client-centric with a specific focus on acquiring new partners
- You are able to detect opportunities in the market within an existing portfolio and support your recommendations with a sound argumentation
- You are analytical and able to ¿play with figures¿
- You feel confident representing Fairtrade in B2B Events (Fairs, sector events, etc.)
- You enjoy working in a team, but are also able to take initiatives and lead your own projects
- You feel strongly about contributing to a fairer market situation and fully endorse the values of Fairtrade Belgium
- You are precise, structured and able to set priorities
- You can work fluently in MS Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
- You are trilingual NL/FR/EN
