Job Purpose and Impact
This position is in Cargill’s salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Cargill is a trusted salt supplier to a wide variety of industries. We make many different salt products. We are leveraging our deep understanding of the salt industry in North America to grow our presence in the European market. The Account Manager role will be essential for our business success. While handling both face to face and remote selling across EMEA, of a variety of salt products, services and solutions the Account Manager will build sales plans and diversification strategies to protect and grow the relationship with a defined group of new and existing customers, and will contribute to the Business Development Plan, by identifying market opportunities and translating the group strategy into the sales planning.
Key Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of sales proposals and detailed presentations to food manufacturing customers.
- With minimal mentorship, maintain current and develop new client relationships that connect to growth plans and strategies for developing profitable business with assigned accounts.
- Achieve sales targets
- Closely monitor the customer relationship for continuous value creation and optimization.
- Participate in resolving problems and ensuring customers receive high level of service.
- Review and report on customer retention, business opportunities, and market trends.
- Follow market and competition evolution, relaying information to wider group.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of four years of experience in B2B sales within food industry
- High level of curiosity and resilience
- Fluency in German is a must
- Hands on, willing to learn on the job and be comfortable to build process and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in selling salt across international markets
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across different functions in a complex matrix organization
